This website is an educational collection of real-world engineering ethics case studies created for students, teachers, engineers, and curious readers. Each case introduces an important event or ethical problem in accessible language and provides reliable, approachable sources for further exploration. The project exists to help readers consider how engineering decisions affect public safety, professional responsibility, the environment, privacy, fairness, and society—not simply whether a technology works as intended.

Many of the cases are based on or inspired by examples in Martin Peterson’s textbook Ethics for Engineers. His textbook introduces major ethical theories, professional codes, and practical cases that help students connect philosophical reasoning with the decisions engineers face in the real world. This website expands that case-based approach into a freely accessible teaching resource and was made possible through support from the Texas A&M Bovay Fund.
